Since its foundation CICIMAR-IPN has been working on the research and survey of ichthyofauna, malacofauna, and marine phycoflora throughout the main areas of South Baja California. This database, which belongs to SNIB, contains information on the Laguna Ojo de Liebre from the El Vizcaino Biosphere reserve, it includes a total of 8 452 curatorial records from 36 families, 50 genera and 57 species.
