The great diversity of habitats and the geographic isolation of the rest of the state of Coahuila have allowed for a great diversity of species and endemisms, consequently it constitutes one of the most important humid areas in Mexico’s arid zone. The Collection of Birds and Mammals from the Valley of Cuatrociénegas in Coahuila consists of 1 298 samples representing 54 families, 137 genera, 177 species and pertains to the SNIB. |
