PROGRAM FOR HEAT POINTS DETECTION USING
REMOTE SENSING TECHNIQUES
The damages caused by forest fires in 1998 had severe repercussions on
Mexico’s natural zones. Responding to this problem, Conabio conducted a
study called "Fires in Mexico - an analysis of their threat to biodiversity."
On the basis of this experience, the program called "Program for detecting
hot spots by remote sensoring techniques" was implemented. The program has
been carried out since 1999 until today and it continues to be updated.
